Jason Mraz - I'm Yours

This song and this video epitomizes my ideology this summer. It's quite optimistic and the video is filled with beautiful imagery that seem very familiar to me as of two and half months ago. This past winter was really long, cold, and difficult and everytime I see this video, it just makes me smile and think of summer. After what I've been going through, I really needed this. I love this photo of my little Bella. We were at Borders in Uptown when she saw the huge "B" on the building across the street. I love the way she is silhouetted and has her hand on the window, looking out. These small moments with my child seem insignificant, yet they will be the ones that will remain in my memory forever.

Soon, my bunso will be grown up and will leave me to be out on her own. But I will remember her being this small. She is so funny, so sweet, so pretty, so genuine, so happy. It's that magical time in your life when you are truly free. Kids are only young once and if I miss this, I may never have chances like this again with my child.

FITC Chicago - June 23, 2008

i went to FITC (Flash in the Can) Chicago 2008 on Monday June 23. I got my fill of code and geeky stuff which i have not been surrounded by in a while. it was interesting, very inspiring, and is what i needed to get my butt in gear and get out of actionscript 2.0. i've decided to take the plunge into AS3 and once you go there, there's no turning back as it is not compatible with AS2 or AS1 and is a full blown programming language. here we go!

i really liked R Blank (Becoming AS3: 10 Things AS1/2 Hybrid Coders Should Know), Ralph Hauwert (Flash 2D & 3D Effects ), and local boy Samuel Agesilas (Orchid) cracked me up! unfortunately i missed Erik Natzke (Beyond the Knowledge: The Art of Playing) since i decided to go to adobe AIR session instead. i wish i went to see Natzke instead.

i'm psyched about Flash again! Flash forever, baby!

Father's Day 2008

I spent my father's day goofing around with my kids... our favorite thing to do. Bella, Max, Dillon and me were playing Webkinz Olympics in the backyard and making all sorts of silly scenarios while I took photos and video. Chloe did not partake as she is a teenager now and as such, at that age where goofiness with elementary school kids is not her favorite thing to do.
Thanks Bella, Maxwell, Dillon and Chloe. You're the best kids any father could ever have. You make life fun and silly :D I loves ya!

MINI summer roaming

I hope to be doing some "MINI" road trips this summer in this thing. Cruising to nearby towns in this ragtop to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the monotony of the suburbs. This is my vehicle to get away. Just me, my dog, Q and some cameras. This is the summer to roam.
